Faculty Briefs and Court Documents

C|M|LAW faculty often co-author briefs of amicus curiae and other court documents with faculty from various institutions that are submitted in the Supreme Court of the United States and other district courts.

Professor Milena Sterio submitted an amicus brief in September with several colleagues from the Public International Law and Policy Group to the International Criminal Court (ICC) in the case of Bosco Ntaganda, who was convicted by the ICC on 18 counts of war crimes in 2019 for his military involvement in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Last month, professor Chris Sagers co-authored an amicus brief supporting the plaintiffs in the Supreme Court’s antitrust matter NCAA v. Alston. The Alston plaintiffs are college athletes who successfully challenged the NCAA’s “amateurism” rules, convincing the lower courts that the rules should be relaxed to limit their effect on competition for athletic talent.
