Using Health Affairs Topics to Start or Further Your Research

If you’re researching in the area of health law, one resource you’ll want to keep in mind is the journal Health Affairs. As a C|M|LAW student, you can access Health Affairs through our databases list – note that you’ll need to use Health Affairs in the law library.

Health Affairs is a leading peer-reviewed journal on health policy. You can use the Topic pages as a starting point for research. Topics cover things like health law generally, health equity, end of life care, telehealth and more.

For example, if you are researching the Affordable Care Act, the Health Affairs topic page quickly points you to the latest articles in the journal on this topic. You can also find a tab for forefront articles on the ACA, health policy briefs, and multimedia resources including podcasts.

Health Affairs is a unique health policy journal that you won’t find in the major legal databases like Lexis and Westlaw, but you can easily access it here in the library. It’s worth including in your research.
