Two Social Justice Events on Thursday 8/13/2020
The Vera Institute of Justice is conducting its Summer Justice Forum on Thursday, August 13, 2020. Starting at 6pm EDT, the virtual Forum “will bring together graduate students and young professionals for a conversation with leading advocates to understand this moment’s meaning for the larger justice movement and for their own lives and careers.” Register here. Also on 8/13/2020, from 2pm to 5pm EDT, the National Urban League is conducting State of Black America – Unmasked. This virtual event will unpack the newest edition of the annual State of Black America report. A “stellar line up of elected officials, activists, and leaders in health, education, and economics” will join NUL President Marc H. Morial in an “essential discussion dedicated to Black lives and Black power.”
