National Museum of African American History & Culture Launches Talking About Race Portal

The National Museum of African American History & Culture, the newest Smithsonian museum in Washington, D.C., has recently launched the Talking About Race web portal. The new resource gathers information and provides discussion starting points for educators, caregivers, and persons concerned with equality. Topics include social identities, systems of oppression,whiteness, community building, and implicit bias.

If you’re unable to visit the museum in person, you can check out its Open Access Initiative, a fascinating collection of images of objects from the Museum collection. Topics include civil rights, LGBTQ+, segregation, and more.
