Faculty – Pick Whether to Link to Westlaw or WestlawNext on TWEN
As you may know, case citations and other citations in documents uploaded to TWEN are automatically linked to the case or other document in Westlaw. Now, faculty can select whether they want the links to go to classic Westlaw or WestlawNext. Currently, the default is to classic Westlaw. Professors can set the links to go to WestlawNext by:
- Clicking on Modify Course (F) in the lower left corner
- Click on Modify Course Citation Markup Settings
- Click on the box next to Activate WestlawNext Citation Markup
- Click Save
Students are still unable to print WestlawNext documents to the Westlaw printer, so faculty may want to keep the option set to classic Westlaw. When Westlaw enables the student Westlaw printer to be used for WestlawNext, faculty may want to switch to the WestlawNext option.
Westlaw appears to have added some more new features on TWEN including:
- Allow faculty to allow students to run a document posted on the course page through Westcheck, which will check all the citations
- Creating an RSS feed from a course document
