C|M|Law & Urban Affairs Faculty Receive Research Grant

C|M|Law Cybersecurity Center LogoC|M|Law Professors Brian Ray, Jonathan Witmer-Rich, and Joseph Mead, and CSU Urban Affairs Professor Nicholas Zingale, recently received a $52,000 grant from the Charles Koch Foundation to support their “Smart Communities, Smart Policing and Privacy: Privacy Awareness and Training Playbook and Training Lab” research project.  They will be researching emerging open data policies in cities and the use of smart policing and surveillance tools, including facial recognition and data sharing.  Their research project will build upon work conducted by the CSU Center for Cybersecurity and Privacy Protection and CSU/CWRU Internet of Things Collaborative (IOTC).
