PowerPoint for Lawyers and Law Students
I have been working on a poster for the annual conference of the American Association of Law Libraries the last week and I thought this might segue into a good blog topic. I’m doing the poster using PowerPoint. Interestingly you can create posters not just on PowerPoint, but also Word and many websites available online for a fee.
This project then got me thinking–what if someone is a lawyer or law student and needs help with these tools for posters or presentations? Well Scholar, the law library’s catalog has a lot of suggestions. One that I found may be of use is the OSBA’s: Introduction to PowerPoint for Legal Professionals : and Advanced PowerPoint for Legal Professionals. Located in the Ohio Room, this publication covers not just a single design or poster, but everything a legal professional needs to know about the use of PowerPoint in their law practice. As a helpful hint, when you go to this publication, it will lead you to a number of other helpful titles dealing with various technologies of use to lawyers located around it.
YouTube is another great place to look for short how-to videos on PowerPoint and various other Microsoft Office products such as Word and Excel.
