Professor Sundahl Publishes Op-Ed on Outer Space Treaty

Prof. Mark Sundahl recently published an editorial in Space News, preemptively addressing issues that were likely to arise during a Senate subcommittee hearing about the Outer Space Treaty. A draft Senate bill issued recently calls for consideration of U.S. withdrawal from the 1967 Outer Space Treaty. In the op-ed, Prof. Sundahl clarifies that U.S. companies are able to operate freely in a peaceful and orderly space environment only because of the Outer Space Treaty. He concludes that U.S. withdrawal would be a catastrophe for law and order in space. Read the editorial here.
