HR1628 Postponed for Consideration

US Capitol BuildingThis afternoon, the Speaker of the House, Paul Ryan, postponed further consideration of House Resolution 1628.  This action was conducted in accordance with clause 1(c) of Rule 19 of the Rules of the House of Representatives.  HR 1628, the American Health Care Act of 2017, would have eliminated many of the provisions of the Patient Protections and Affordable Care Act (ACA).  Several health law analysts believe this action means House leaders will at least reconsider a more conservative approach to repealing the ACA, if not abandon ACA repeal efforts.
