Free Federal Rule Books

Do you use the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure, Federal Rules of Criminal Procedure or Federal Rules of Evidence in your courses?  Do you want to access these federal rules … for FREECALI has a free option for you to use.

 CALI eLangdell BooksB

Beginning last year, CALI’s eLangdell Press partnered with the Legal Information Institute at Cornell Law School to create and publish digital editions of the Federal Rules of Evidence, Federal Rules of Civil Procedure and Federal Rules of Criminal Procedure. These are the 2012 editions that became effective on December 1, 2011.  The 2013 editions, effective December 1, 2012, will be published shortly.

These books take their content from the Legal Information Institute US Code which, in turn, is created from US Government data.  They contain:

  • The complete rules
  • All notes of the Advisory Committee immediately following the rules
  • Internal links to rules referenced within the rules
  • External links to the LII’s website version of the US Code.

The books are published digitally and are compatible with kindles, iPads, nooks…pretty much every ereader or tablet that is available.  And if you don’t have any of those, you can still read them easily on a regular PC or Mac.

Not sure how to go about doing this?  Here is an FAQ that explains everything you wanted to know about how to use our ebooks but were afraid to ask.
