New Lexis Legislative and Regulatory Resource Tab
If you are researching regulations or legislation, Lexis’s new Legislative and Regulatory Research Tab organizes the popular resources in one place. Federal resources include the U.S. Code, public laws (the text of Acts as passed by Congress, before they are broken up topically into the U.S. Code, eg. the Patriot Act), current bills and bill tracking, congressional record, committee reports, legislative histories, Code of Federal Regulations, Federal Register (proposed and final regulations before they are topically arranged in the Code of Federal Regulations) and regulation tracking. You can also search and track state legislation and regulations from all states at once.
Other legislative history sources, such as historical bills, committee prints, etc. can be accessed either by going through the Legislative Histories on Lexis for bills passed 1970 and later, the Legislation and Politics Category on Lexis, or via this list of resources on Lexis from our Federal Legislative History Guide. Lexis does not have older materials. A good place to start looking for older legislative history materials is Proquest Congressional.
