Live Blogs on US Supreme Court PPACA Decision

You can connect to two live blogs discussing today’s US Supreme Court National Federation of Independent Business v. Sebelius decision.    SCOTUSblog is the Supreme Court of the United States blog, and it’s been running commentary on the decision since 8:45am EST.  Sponsored by Bloomberg Law, this live blog refreshes automatically, and viewer “comments are published at the Writer’s discretion.”

The two-way is the blog of National Public Radio, and today it’s featuring Supreme Court Upholds Health Care Law.  You need to periodically refresh the NPR blog link to view new content.

NPR is also providing Inside the Health Care Ruling, a good summary web site on this landmark decision.  NPR’s very brief synopsis on the decision is:  “In a 5-4 decision that was unusual because conservative Chief Justice John Roberts joined the court’s four liberals and became the deciding vote, the justices ruled that the so-called individual mandate is a tax that Congress can impose on Americans.  That undercut the challenge to that provision’s constitutionality for allegedly violating the Commerce Clause.  From there, upholding the mandate meant that the rest of the act was judged constitutional as well.”
