For Our Soon-To-Be Graduates

To those students who will graduate this semester: Congratulations! After you have completed your studies at Cleveland-Marshall, there are many ways in which you can continue to benefit from the law school and library—even virtually.

When the library is open, you can continue to use its resources by applying for an alumni borrower’s card. The application can be found here. You still will have access to important databases, such as HeinOnline and others, from the public computers and can also access CSUGUEST, our wireless network.

While the library is closed we are still available virtually by email at research.services@law.csuohio.edu, phone (216 687-6877), or chat (from the library’s homepage).

Bar Exam PrepCALI:

We will do all that we can to help you prepare for the bar exam. CALI lessons are available for up to six months after graduation to help you perfect your legal knowledge.

Westlaw Access:

You have access to Westlaw and Practical Law for six-months after graduation. Your “Grad Elite” access provides 60 hours of usage on these products per month to gain understanding and build confidence in your research skills. While it cannot be used in situations where you are billing a client, you can use these tools to build your knowledge of the law and prepare for the bar exam.

In addition, you get access to Knowledge Center eLearnings and Westlaw Tutorials for 18-months after graduation.

You must opt in for Grad Elite access:

OR

Lexis Access:

Graduates can continue accessing Lexis with their student ID for ongoing free use of the products through December 31, 2020. No registration is required, there are no restrictions, and there are no limits on your research time.

When graduates sign on to lexisnexis.com/LawSchool after July 5, you will see a new Graduate Homepage. Choose between four gifts featured on the Graduate Homepage:

  • Extended access to Law360
  • Lexis Practice Advisor
  • Lexis for Microsoft Office
  • One of 13 LexisNexis eBooks, such as Corbin on Contracts or Weinstein’s Evidence Manual

If you have any questions, please direct them to Brian Cassidy, Student Services Librarian, at b.e.cassidy@csuohio.edu  or 216-523-7364.

Best of luck in the future, and stop in to say hi at any time! As always, let us know if you require assistance.
