Cuyahoga County Now Using Electronic Pollbooks

Cuyahoga County Board of Elections logoIf you will be voting in the 9/12/17 Primary Election in Cuyahoga County, and have not voted since before the 5/2/17 Primary Election, you will see a new feature at the polls.  Electronic pollbooks were tested in many precincts for the 5/2/17 Primary Election, but electronic pollbooks will be used throughout all of Cuyahoga County for the 9/12/17 Primary Election.  Electronic pollbooks are handheld tablets used to check in voters, and each electronic pollbook has the record of every voter in the county.  Poll workers can check in voters by scanning the voter’s driver’s license or state ID, or by doing a manual name search.  [Voters must provide proof of identify when checking in – see the Ohio Secretary of State voter Identification Requirements page.]  Each electronic pollbook is synced to other units at the polling location – when a voter checks in on one unit, all units at that location are updated.  For additional information, see the Cuyahoga County Electronic Poll Books page and Electronic Pollbook Training Videos page.
