HeinOnline: Check it out

HeinOnline is a great database that you have access to with many resources included.  The easiest way to access is via the law library’s homepage under “Quicklinks.”

I always tell students to think of Hein when they are looking for something old, i.e., something beyond the coverage of “The Other Guys”—Westlaw, Lexis, and Bloomberg.  The best example of this is the law journals library (see screen shots below).  This library has more than 2200 law and law-related periodicals with comprehensive coverage from the start of each publication.

Once in the Law Journal Library, you can search for your publication or browse for it by letter of the alphabet .  Once you are inside the periodical, you can run a search or if you know the article citation you can go right to the volume (see screenshots below.

Two friendly reminders:  we will be posting a few more blogs about HeinOnline this week and we will be having a HeinOnline contest next week for a $50 Amazon gift card!  You will receive a email about the contest and we will also post the details on the blog next Monday, September 26th.
