Tools to Help You Stay Organized

Are sticky notes already taking over your workspace? Instead, try one of the many online apps and add-ons available to help you stay organized throughout the school year.

If you are writing a research paper this semester, check out our guide to Scholarship Technology including Reference Management Software such as RefWorks and Zotero. Both programs help you create and save references, even from web content, and attach documents. Pocket is another useful tool if you are frequently researching online. Pocket saves articles and videos for you to view later. Once your content is saved, you can view it on any device.

There are several programs that help organize your class notes as well.  Evernote is a productivity tool where you can take notes, capture images and webpages, and create to do lists. Saved content is available across devices. Basic Evernote is free, but subscription options are also available with additional features. Microsoft OneNote is another digital notebook and is included in your Office 365 license. OneNote makes it easy to take and organize notes, add links and files, and share notes.
