A Message from Gary D. Lewis Jr., Chief of Police, Cleveland State University:

Cleveland State University is one of the safest public universities in Ohio. We want to keep it that way – and we’re asking for your help.

Today CSU is launching #BeSafeCLEstate, a new campaign to keep campus safety top of mind for our entire campus community. To this end, we’ll be rolling out a series of proactive measures in the coming weeks and months.

Keep an eye out for the #BeSafeCLEstate Tip of the Week on CSU’s social media channels, including Facebook and Twitter, where you’ll find actionable pointers on everything from our 24/7 safety escort service to pedestrian safety to theft prevention, among other topics. I encourage you to take these safety tips to heart, put them into practice and share them via social media.

To get out the #BeSafeCLEstate message, we’ll also utilize a variety of other communications pieces as well as upcoming events to promote campus safety, including residence hall meetings and our informal “Coffee with a Cop” sessions on the Innerlink. Stay tuned for details on additional programs, too.

#BeSafeCLEstate is more than just a hashtag. It’s a call to action – and we’re calling on YOU. When it comes to campus safety, all of us have an important role to play.
