Sheppard v. Maxwell: 50 Years Later – Reinvestigating the Sam Sheppard Murder Case

Scandal, sex, murder and the media. It has been almost 62 years since Marilyn Sheppard was murdered in her Bay Village home. On Friday, November 13th, join judges, prosecutors, and attorneys as they convene to mark the 50th anniversary of the United States Supreme Court’s decision in the landmark case of Sheppard v. Maxwell that set the standard for pretrial publicity and media in the courtroom.

The Cleveland-Marshall College of Law Library houses the physical and digital archives of the Sheppard case which can be viewed at The Sam Sheppard Case: 1954-2000. Beth Farrell, Lisa Smilnak, and Sean Kennedy will present on the Library’s collection.
