Student Writing Competition: Women and the Law

The National Association of Women Lawyers (NAWL) sponsors an annual Selma Moidel Smith Law Student Writing Competition that offers a cash prize of $500 and the opportunity to have your article published in Women’s Lawyer Journal. Entrants should submit articles on the topic of women’s rights or the status of women and the law. Last year’s winning article was entitled “All Things Being Equal, Women Lose: Investigating the Law of Diversity         Among the Recent Appointments to the Iowa Supreme Court.” The writing contest is open to any student enrolled in law school, and papers written for coursework  or independent study can be submitted.
