New LexisAdvance Features Added this Summer
Some LexisAdvance improvements made over the summer include:
- 99% of the Lexis for law schools content is now available on LexisAdvance. Some international law items are not yet on LexisAdvance.
- Easily pull up a case or other document simply by typing the citation into the search box. (In another tab, cases citing that case are automatically pulled up)
- Cases have links to Topic Summary Reports. For the main topics in that case, there is a topic summary, seminal cases and secondary sources on that topic, burden of proof, elements and standard of review (where applicable).
- Filter cases by published and unpublished status.
- Snapshot search results view, where you can see the top relevant documents for different types of documents, such as cases, statutes, secondary sources, etc.
- Binoculars indicate previously viewed documents.
- Select a particular source, such as a particular treatise (eg. Ohio Jurisprudence) by using the Browse Sources link (upper right). From there, you can search for sources or browse a list of sources.
- Browse a list of topics and subtopics. For each subtopic you can: get documents and search these documents, add the topic to a search, create an alert or add to favorites.
- Search for synonyms and term equivalency for legal concepts. This feature can be turned on and off by going to Settings (upper right). The default is off, so be sure to go into Settings and turn it on if you would like to use this feature.
- Search tables of contents.
