Changes & Improvements to TWEN and Lexis Blackboard
TWEN changes include:
- When a user chooses to mark up their citations, the default will now mark those citations to WestlawNext. In the past, the default was linking to classic Westlaw. (See our prior post Faculty – Pick Whether to Link to Westlaw or WestlawNext on TWEN). Faculty can set the links to go to classic Westlaw by:
- Clicking on Modify Course (F) in the lower left corner
- Click on Modify Course Citation Markup Settings
- Click on the box next to Activate WestlawNext Citation Markup
- Click Save
- Timed quizzes are now available. Students can continue taking the quiz after the allotted time, but taking too long to complete the quiz will be noted in red text. The students’ start and finish times can be seen by the instructor.
- Anonymous quizzing, which is called Enable Survey Mode.
Lexis Blackboard changes include:
- New mobile app – Go to your app store and download the free Blackboard Mobile Learn App. Search for Lexis (not the name of your law school). Sign in to Lexis and your course will appear.
- SafeAssign plagiarism checker now checks against articles from the top 500 Law Reviews & Journals available from Lexis.com dating back to 1/1/2000.
- What’s New withe Lexis Course Pages? brochure
