Google Scholar Has Search Within Cases Citing a Case
Google Scholar’s “Search within Articles Cited” feature is similar to doing a focus search of Shepard’s results or locate search of Keycite results. You can narrow down a list of cases citing your case by jurisdiction or by keyword. For example: Say you are looking for a case dealing with a Motion for Relief from Judgment (Civ.R. 60(b)) because the proper person in a corporation never received service. You know that a major case concerning Civ.R. 60(b) in Ohio is GTE Automatic Electric, Inc. v. ARC Industries, Inc. (1976), 47 Ohio St.2d 146. So the Google Scholar Search would be:
.
Then click on Cited by 856,
Of course, this functionality also works with articles. If you find a seminal law review article, you can find other articles that deal with particular aspects or issues.
