To tase or not to tase? That is the question
Philadelphia and Cleveland have always been linked to one thing, fan behavior at sporting events. This past weekend a kid in Philadelphia ran onto the field during a Phillies game. The story usually ends up with the announcers saying how idiotic the person is for running on the field and the cameras purposely pan away so that the person doesn’t get their fifteen seconds of fame on television. The difference in last week’s story was that the teenage kid was tased by a security guard. The use of tasers has been under fire mainly due to deaths they have caused in the past. Some people have been grumbling about the latest incident due to the age of the individual and if the incident warranted the use of the taser. People have been running onto the field for years, well maybe not Jhonny Peralta, and it seems that the punishments are more of a slap on the wrist. Maybe putting some fear into these people will curb incidents in the future, but then again drinking 20 beers at a game gets rid of that fear. Never underestimate a drunk sports fan. So just like debating on how soon the Indians will lose their 100th game, the debate over taser use rages on. Go read the article bro! Go read the article!
