Morris L. Cohen Student Essay Competition

Picture of Morris L. CohenThe American Association of Law Libraries Legal History and Rare Books Special Interest Section is seeking papers for its Morris L. Cohen Student Essay Competition.  Full- and part-time students currently enrolled in accredited graduate programs in law, library science, history, or related fields are eligible to enter.  Essays may be on any topic related to legal history, rare law books, or legal archives.  The winner will receive a $500 prize from Gale Cengage Learning and up to $1,000 for expenses associated with attendance at the 2010 AALL Annual Meeting.  The Competition submission deadline is 11:59pm, Saturday, 1 May 2010.  Full Competition details and entry form are available at the LHRB SIS Morris L. Attendance at the 2010 AALL Annual Meeting is encouraged, but not required, of the Competition winner.  The winner and runner-up will be recognized at the LHRB meeting and reception.  The winner will also have the opportunity to present the winning paper at the LHRB Roundtable session.

Morris L. Cohen is Professor Emeritus of Law at Yale Law School.  His scholarly work in in the fields of legal research, rare books, and historical bibliography.
