Find Health Data with American FactFinder
The U.S. Census Bureau conducts nearly one hundred surveys and censuses every year. Included in this data is a wealth of health information that can be used as supporting factual evidence in seminar papers, notes, memos, briefs, and more.
A relatively easy way to access this complicated data is to use the Guided Search feature on American FactFinder, a search portal hosted by the U.S. Census Bureau. For example, you can select that you are looking broadly for information on people, and narrow this down to information on disability or health insurance status. You can then further focus your search by characteristics such as geographic location or race/ethnicity.
The American Community Survey, the Economic Census, and the American Housing Survey are examples of some of the surveys and censuses included in the Guided Search.
