Urban Agriculture Symposium Friday
As the movement towards local food continues to grow, cities are finding that they must develop laws and policies to allow for and regulate agricultural practices within urban communities. On Friday April 20, C|M|LAW is hosting Urban Agriculture: Not an Oxymoron, a symposium on policies for cultivating city land and increasing access to local food. Join national scholars, community leaders, and locavores in discussing:
- Why local food benefits the community
- Laws and policies that Cleveland and other cities have implemented to increase local food production and access to it
- Benefits and challenges of implementing these policies
- Increasing connections between rural farmers and urban consumers.
The event is free and open to the public, and 3.0 hours of CLE credit is available to registrants. A reception with local food from Cleveland Crops and Nature’s Bin will follow the symposium.
