Ohio Legal Practice Materials for Your Summer Position
If you’re working this summer and find yourself tasked with a legal research issue that’s based here in Ohio, you’ll probably want to have a look at jurisdiction-specific practice materials.
Practice materials are handy secondary sources that are generally a little more user-friendly than a full-blown treatise. Think Baldwin’s Civil Practice, as compared to Moore’s Federal Practice. Practice materials can give you useful background material, lead you to primary law citations, and even provide relevant forms.
Two of the most well-known practice series are Baldwin’s (from West) and Anderson’s (from Lexis). Baldwin’s has both a practice series and a handbook series. Examples from these series include:
- Tort Law – Baldwin’s Ohio Practice
- Ohio Juvenile Law – Baldwin’s Ohio Handbook
- Anderson’s Ohio School Law
- Anderson’s Ohio Civil Practice with Forms
