A Treatise To Get You Started

While working your summer internship or other legal position this summer, you may be faced with a research assignment on a topic that’s new to you. While the temptation is there to simply Google away, you’ll probably be better served by starting with a legal treatise. Treatises thoroughly and systematically cover a specific topic. They lead you to the key cases and statutes in an area, and are generally speaking much easier to read than the primary law itself.
