Ohio Rural Jobs Act Introduced in General Assembly
HB253, the Ohio Rural Jobs Act, was introduced in the General Assembly earlier this month by State Representative Wes Retherford (R-Hamilton). The act, which is modeled after the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Rural Business Investment program, would authorize a nonrefundable tax credit for insurance companies that invest in rural business growth funds. The aim of the act is to support the small business community in rural areas. The act has been referred to the House Agriculture and Rural Development committee. A Legislative Service Commission Bill Analysis is available for the act. You can track this and other Ohio legislation through Hannah Capitol Connection.
