US Court of Claims Writing Competition
The Court of Federal Claims Bar Association is hosting its annual writing competition. All students including recent graduates during the 2014-15 academic year are eligible to participate. The winning entry will receive a $2,000 cash prize and an opportunity to be published.
Entries may address any topic that lies within the procedure, substance, or scope of the jurisdiction of the Unites States Court of Federal Claims. In general, the Court has jurisdiction over monetary claims against the United States that are based upon alleged violations of the Constitution, federal statutes, executive regulations, or express or implied contracts with the United States. This includes broad topical areas such as federal tax law, Fifth Amendment takings, government contracts and bid protests, intellectual property, Native American tribal rights, and claims for vaccine compensation under the Vaccine Injury Compensation Program, among others.
A formal announcement for the writing competition is attached to this email, and the rules of the contest are posted on the Association’s website at: http://www.cfcbar.org/writing-competition. The website also contains information about the three previous winning submissions. The entry deadline for submissions is July 17, 2015.
