MPT Workshops Start Jan. 5
This post is courtesy of Mary Jane McGinty, Director, Academic Support and Bar Exam Preparation:
C|M|LAW students are invited to attend MPT workshops every Thursday, starting January 5, 2012. If you are out of town or unable to come to the sessions, you can have the MPTs emailed to you. Here are the details:
What: Multistate Performance Test Workshop. We will serve lunch (free), discuss different strategies for approaching the MPT, and take practice MPTs from past bar exams. Every week you will get feedback on the work you’ve done, including suggestions on how to improve your scores; a copy of the official Point Sheet used by bar graders; and a copy of a high-scoring MPT response from Ohio.
When: Every Thursday, January 5 through February 9, 2012 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. The February 9th session will go a bit later, as you will be doing two MPTs, just like the Bar Exam!
Where: LB 201
Cost: A one-time $5.00 licensing fee that will go to the National Conference of Bar Examiners for the use of their MPTs and MPT Point Sheets. (If you have ever taken OBEST, you have already paid this fee and you do not owe it now.) Make your check payable to Gary Williams.
Have the MPTs emailed to you if you are unable to come to school: While it is best to take the MPT under test-like conditions in a classroom at the law school, we know that some of you will be out of town or unable to come on Thursdays from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. If you can’t come, email maryjane.mcginty@law.csuohio.edu and layla.davis@law.csuohio.edu between now and January 5 and we will email the MPT of the week to you in advance. Email your response to us before 9:00 a.m. the following Friday. Your MPT response will be graded and returned to you by the following Wednesday.
Questions?: Please contact Mary Jane McGinty, (216)687-2297, maryjane.mcginty@law.csuohio.edu ,if you have any questions.
We plan to see you there!
P.S. C|M|LAW faculty members will be presenting one-hour review sessions on the bar essay subjects on February 13th and 14th, 2012. Stay tuned for further information on these informative and helpful sessions.
