Call for Papers: British Legal History

The Law Faculty of the National University of Singapore is hosting the First International Conference on the Legal History of the British Empire from July 5-7, 2012 in Singapore. The conference is supported by a number of learned societies around the globe, including the American Society of Legal History. The organizers of the event have posted the preliminary call for papers.  Possible topics for consideration:

  • Administration of justice and rule of law
  • Colonial judiciary
  • Legal professions
  • Legal culture and ideology
  • Women’s rights
  • Law and gender
  • Labor law
  • Crime and criminal justice.

The deadline for submissions is June 30, 2011.
