Grammar Book/Web Site Recommendations

Here are  recommendations for grammar books and web sites  from some of C|M|LAW’s legal writing professors:

Professor Kelly Curtis recommends Susan Therman and Larry Shea, The Only Grammar Book You’ll Ever Need: A One-Stop Source for Every Writing Assignment , F & W Publications, Inc., (2003).  At 184 pages, it is not a huge book, but it contains all the essential rules you will use frequently.  The book will not bog you down with obscurities.

Professor Carolyn Broering-Jacobs likes C. Edward Good, A Grammar Book for You and I (Oops, Me): All the Grammar You Need to Succeed in Life, Capital Books, Inc., 2002.  Website-wise, Professor Broering-Jacobs suggests Grammarbook.com , because it has free interactive quizzes, and  Grammar Girl, because it is simple, accessible and fun.
