Easily Create a Table of Authorities
For help creating a table of authorities using Word 2007, see Instructions from MicroSoft Office Online and this article from Bright Hub. (Thanks to Technology at Albany Law School blog, Using Word – Some Tutorials).
You may also want to try LexisNexis BestAuthority Light Edition, which is free to law students and faculty. It is an add-in to Microsoft Works, and will operate on PCs,but not Macs. I tried it, and it is a lot faster than just using Word to build the table of authorities. Also, edits made through Best Authority correct citations both in the Table of Authorities and the brief. Table of Authorities can be set to use common U.S. style manuals, such as Bluebook or the California Style Manual. It does not appear to incorporate the Ohio Citation Manual at this time.
