Using Google for Legal Research and More Effectively

gooA current article in The American Association of Law Libraries Spectrum magazine titled: “Filling the Google Gaps” instructs on ways to use Google in your legal research other than just typing in the search box. The article is written by former C|M|Law librarian Rebecca Mattson.

Did you know you can use Boolean searching on Google’s advanced search? While not as robust as a Lexis or Westlaw proximity connectors the advanced search on google does allow you to use “and”, “or”, “exact phrase” or “not” options.

Google Scholar also allows users to search cases or journal articles. Google also has a Patents database to search.
