The Congressional Record App
The Congressional Record is the official record of the United State Congress. It is a key resource for finding the texts of Congressional debates. The Congressional Record contains four sections: the House section, the Senate section, the Extension of Remarks, and the Daily Digest. The Daily Digest lists all bills introduced, reports filed, measures debated, and committee meetings held.
In the past, finding information in the Congressional Record was tedious and time consuming. Now there is electronic access, including an app developed by the Library of Congress for iPhone and iPad devices. The app allows you to search the Congressional Record by keyword, copy and email documents, and save documents. Coverage starts from January 4, 1995 to present (the Congressional Record itself started back in 1873 – if you need to go back that far, use HeinOnline). The Congressional Record app is free and can be downloaded from the iTunes store.
