Ohio Fatherhood Commission Links to Fatherhood Laws & Policy
In operation since 2000, the Ohio Fatherhood Commission was established to “enhance the well-being of Ohio’s children by inspiring and supporting diverse groups and communities to improve the quality of fatherhood” and is codified at Ohio Revised Code 5101.34 et seq. Our local Fatherhood Commission is practically unique nationwide (a quick search revealed that only Hawaii has one, too), and it is active in supporting and sponsoring various state wide events. The Commission’s Law and Policy page has information on Ohio legislation on father-friendly sentencing reform [SB 22] and parenting time [HB 40], and to the federal Responsible Fatherhood and Healthy Families Act of 2009.
