ACLU Guide to High School Students’ Rights
Anyone interested in education law or civil rights will want to take a look at the recently revised ACLU publication, Students! Know Your Rights!. The guide deals only with the rights of public high school students. Many specific issues are addressed, such as freedom of speech rights for student newspapers, search and seizures, bullying and discrimination. See the notes at the end for references to cases and statutes. While the ACLU cautions that this publication is not legal advice, it is perfect as a research reference or an inspiration for a paper topic. The ACLU has lots of other useful publications on many subjects.
