Roadmap: The Law Student’s Guide to Meaningful Employment by Neil W. Hamilton sets out guidance for students to use throughout law school in order to be fully prepared to find employment upon graduation. The book covers the core competencies desired by law firms, corporate legal departments, and governmental law departments, so as to demonstrate what competencies students should be working on while in school. Hamilton’s method is used at several schools with good results in increased employment rates.

Neil W. Hamilton is the Holloran Center Director and Professor of Law (and former Dean) at the University of St. Thomas School of Law in Minneapolis, MN.

Gilbert’s Law Summaries: Sale and Lease of Goods is available via West Academic Study Aids.

The collection of West Academic study aids includes hundreds of titles that cover most law school courses. They can be accessed through the law library’s website under Research Databases. Some of the popular study aid series include Nutshells, Acing Series, Concepts and Insights, Gilbert Summaries, and Sum and Substance Audio. There are also subject matter overviews, interactive questions, exam style questions, outlines, videos, and case briefs.

To access the study aids, you must log into the law school proxy server using your 7-digit CSU ID number and the password you use to log into the computer lab. You also have the option to create a personal account. Full instructions are here.

Access to the study aids is unlimited, so use them as often as you like.
