Professor Ray Publishes Book on Social Rights in South Africa Brian Ray has published a new book, “Engaging with Social Rights: Procedure, Participation and Democracy in South Africa’s Second Wave“. The book was published by Cambridge University Press; more information is available on the Cambridge University Press website. It will be available in the Cleveland-Marshall Law Library in the next few weeks. Congratulations to Professor Ray!

This Just In: Unmanned Aircraft in the National Airspace

unmannedIt is almost daily that you hear stories about drones on the news.  Just one reason why the book Unmanned Aircraft in the National Airspace : Critical Issues, Technology, and the Law is so topical.   Drone and unmanned aircraft are an emerging areas of law.  This book focuses on it from a technological perspective. The book covers both the laws of unmanned aircraft and the respective technological foundations required to understand and work with the law in an informed manner.

Also covered are the legal foundations of insurance and risk, product liability, system security, information assurance, safety, Constitutional law(covering emerging areas that may impact civil rights and civil liberties) as well as issues concerning the media, such as freedom of the press and freedom to cover stories involving collaboration with law enforcement. In essence, this book brings together the legal, technological, and operational perspectives of drones and unmanned aircraft law into one comprehensive resource.
