Bloomberg Law, Lexis, & Westlaw: Student Summer 2013 Access

Summer SunglassesBloomberg Law (BLAW):  Your academic account remains active during the summer and there are no restrictions on its use. It can be used for both academic and commercial purposes.  For graduates, your BLAW account remains active through December 2013. If you do not have a BLAW account email our Bloomberg Law rep,  Noelle Petruzelli-Marino, npetruzellim@bloomberg.net.

Lexis (Lexis.com & Lexis Advance):  You will have full access to Lexis Advance during the summer without special registration, but not Lexis.com. Graduates have full Lexis Advance access through July 31, 2013, but not Lexis.com.  If you do not have a Lexis Advance account, email our Lexis rep, Jennifer Durkin, jennifer.durkin@lexisnexis.com

Westlaw (Westlaw Classic & Westlaw Next): Students must extend their password for summer use.  Go to Westlaw’s Password Extension site at http://lawschool.westlaw.com, just login to Westlaw and go to relevant Password Extension site.  Westlaw limits student summer use to “academic legal research.” If a student does not extend their password, they will still have four (4) hours of access per month in June and July with the same restrictions. Full access returns in August. Graduates also must extend their password as stated above. Graduate access will go through July 31, 2013. Academic use includes: law school coursework; journal or moot Court research; working as a faculty research assistant; unpaid, non-profit public interest positions (excluding government and court positions), pro bono work for academic credit, and bar exam preparation.
