Health Law Research Tip: Congressional Budget Office Reports

Founded in 1974, the Congressional Budget Office performs nonpartisan, impartial analysis of budgetary and economic issues in support of the Congressional budget process.  Health care is one of the CBO’s major reporting areas. Their health care portal  links you to all publication types – reports, cost estimates, blog posts, presentations, images, data and technical information, and working papers. Subtopics covered under health care are: Medicare, Medicaid and CHIP, Affordable Care Act, private health insurance, and public health preparedness. Recent reports examine prescription drug use and Medicare spending, uninsureds under the Affordable Care Act, and excise taxes on cigarettes.
