“Residency” for Lawyers

The Arizona State University Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law is establishing a mini nonprofit law firm that will operate in a similar way as a teaching hospital.  Experienced attorneys will act as partners and supervise 15-30 new graduates as they rotate through a variety of practice areas, including family law, bankruptcy, and corporate organization.  The “resident attorneys” will be paid modest salaries, client fees will be relatively low, and any profits will be dedicated to finance scholarships.
