Law School Email and Spam Filters

There are two ways spam gets filtered in Law School emails:

1.  The University spam filter: https://antispam.csuohio.edu.   Sign in with your CampusNet username and password.  Access junk box of filtered messages. Click on Anti-Spam, AntiPhishing on the left hand side to  allow or block people/companies.  More information.

2.  Thunderbird email puts items in your Junk folder using an algorithm.  The junk folder is the  folder on the left with the flame symbol in front of it.  Be sure to check your junk folder, as it can even put emails sent with a C|M|LAW email address into the junk folder.  If desired, disable the junk folder entirely by clicking on Tools>Account Settings, click on Junk Settings (link on the left), and uncheck the box “Enable Adaptive Junk Mail Controls for this account” .   If you are concerned you are not getting all your emails and you do not want to check the junk folder, this option is for you.

You can also create your own filters by clicking on Tools>Message Filters.   You can also attempt to train your junk folder by marking items as junk and not junk.   More Information.
