Experience the Edge – Practically

In a recent blog post, The Lawyerist highlights the importance of practical experience, and the leverage experience can give students  searching for a job.  Good grades are still imperative but practical experience may give a student the decided edge.  Experience comes in many forms, clerking, clinics, volunteering and externships.

C|M|Law offers many opportunities for students to gain this practical experience.  We currently have six Clinics for students to choose.  The Clinics give students the opportunity to apply the lessons learned in class to real world, real client situations.  Our Externship program, growing by leaps and bounds, provides students with practical skills, attained in various business and legal settings, that are easily applicable on the job.  Our volunteering options are a great networking tool that may also lead to job opportunities.  In March, OCP will be having a NonProfit/Volunteer program, emphasizing how these ventures can lead to not only real experience but networking opportunities.

Take advantage of these programs and opportunities to give yourself the Edge.
